Many former military think the movie was unrealisitic. But I liked the sniper duel. Throw all the love crap out and maybe sharpen up the realisim of combat and Russian tactics and I think it would have been good. But on another note you will not find true realizism in western film because no one but soldiers would watch it. It has to have the gloss of unreality to make it more heroic and larger than life. I want to see a Russian production on Stalingrad, a real epic piece that shows realistically the sacrifices of your country and makes people remember the cost. The Eastern Front was the most titanic struggle ever conducted on the planet.
