Hi
I'm looking for VVS orders of battle for:
Poland 1939 - September 17-24th
Finland - November 39 to March 40
I can find more than I need on the Poles/ Finns, but nothing more than vague overall numbers of aircraft (i.e. 300-3,300) for the Soviets.
Anyone know of any sources, online or hard copy, that would give VVS air regiments/ divisions involved, their aircraft and (ideally) numbers on strength? The sources don't need to be English language.

Hi Phil,
I am aware of a book entitled The Soviet Air Force in WWII by Ray Wagner. I don't have a copy, so I don't know if it contains what you're looking for, but it might be worth trying to get a library copy. There is also a book entitled Red Phoenix by Von Hardesty (again I don't have a copy) which deals mainly with 1941-45 but it may have something useful about deployments in 1939/40.

Got both of those already, they're good but really not big on OOBs (thank god I spelt that right).
There's a Red Stars 5 on the Baltic Fleet Air Force in the Winter War that I've got on order at the library, (but still leaves me needing data on the Leningrad MD Air Forces) and a Polish book on the VVS in Poland that might fit the bill but I've yet to get hold of that.
